"Queen's Blade Festival in AKIBA・JACK!!" was held at hobby shops in Akihabara May 30th.
Queen's Blade is a series of visual combat books published by Hobby Japan, based on the licensed works from Lost Worlds and has sold over 300,000 copies. Its many related products includes drama CDs and novelization, and its figures has always topped the sales chart of hobby shops. The TV animation "Queen's Blade: Rurou no Senshi" has started this April, attracting fans with the action scenes by the sexy characters, the deep storyline based on the original series and its cast.
"Queen's Blade Festival in AKIBA・JACK!!" is a major event consisting of shop events, card game tournament, head-on try out with the original series, anime viewing, cosplay shooting sessions, game version presentation and an auction. Centered at Akihabara Radio Kaikan's Large Hall on the 8th floor and AKIHABARA GAMERS main store added by free giveaway campaigns by cooperating hobby shops, Akihabara was swept away by Queen's Blade.
From the many interesting events, we would like to focus on the viewing and talk show of the TV anime "Queen's Blade: Rurou no Senshi" held at AKIHABARA GAMERS main store and "Janken(rock-paper-scissors) with Airi" event held at Kotobukiya Radio Kaikanten.
The viewing and talk show event showed the uncut version of the anime from Blu-Ray/DVD. With the anime known to have characters' battle scenes in their highly exposed outfits, modified for regular broadcasting, the fans were unable to enjoy the program fully. But with the "Complete Uncut" Blu-Ray/DVD version had fans flocking that just couldn't wait for its release.
The extreme visuals that was released was without the lights for modification, with the beauty of the characters and the seamless motion at OVA quality. For those wanting to check it out, vol.1 on Blu-Ray/DVD will go on sale on June 25th.
The talk show event held after the viewing was with the original series' producer, anime producer and the promoter giving away secrets only heard on the spot. Here are some of the stories below:
・The anime version's modification was first planned to be with tree branches and cloth. But there were too many needed to be modified and ended up using "light" .
・The animation had offers from various companies from 2 years ago.
・"Want to see Cattleya in animation!" was the start of it all(lol) Cattleya is important!
・We wanted to have the taste of the original left. "Scenario strict" was the mindset of the staff and we put emphasis on the story. We really had to think about how Melona will be defeated in the first episode. Also the contrast between the storyline and the characters like Melpha's "Sacred Pose" is another point to see.
・The different creators for each characters was another thing. We didn't know how "Rinshin"(character designer for the animated version) would create the QB. But after seeing the work that was hard to compare with the original, we knew we were on the right track.
・A part from the drama CD, we held a major audition for the voice actors for the series. Not only the number of the characters large, but to set up each persona was the difficult part. It came out well in the end.
・(Will the Queen be decided at the 12th episode?) It may or may not.
・(About "Minnna Dechauyo Gainos Gakuen Oh Abare" included as a Blu-Ray/DVD special) Filled with idiotic and erotic skits. Girls in sailor uniforms are awesome. Tomoe is the new girl in school and Leina, Nanael and Melona are the tough group(lol)

The other event was "Janken(rock-paper-scissors) with Airi" event that had many fans lined up. Held 3 times from 11am, 1pm and 3pm, there were lines waiting for their turn.
The event was a Janken(rock-paper-scissors) match against a "Airi" cosplayer with winners receiving a special sticker. The cosplayer's lines and actions before and after the match had people just watching have a good time.
