EVANGELION:2.0 -YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE- Opening day photo report

"EVANGELION:2.0 YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE" Opening day photo report "EVANGELION:2.0 -YOU CAN (NOT) ADVANCE-" opened June 27th, and we'd like to report the surroundings of Shinjuku, Tokyo's "Shinjuku Milano 1 Theater" on its opening day.

A very hot day surpassing 30 degrees on this opening day, Shinjuku was no exemption. Adding on was the heat that Eva fans brought to the theater.

There were many female fans noticed around the theater. The male-female ratio was almost 1 to 1, with many couples and girl groups seen. Also seen were teens that looked as they had no interest in animation showing "EVANGELLION"'s wide range of audience.

Shinjuku Milano 1 at 10:30am. After the first group of audience comes out, the second group goes in.


(left) Many eyes were on the Kaworu Nagisa cosplaying group (center) became a mini-photo shoot session (right) almost full by 10：40am.


The Cine City Square, in front of the theater (a.k.a. Koma Geki Square) held a "Third New Kabuki-cho Declaration" event. For two days from June 27th to 28th, movie viewing, talk shows and janken events are held.


On the stage were...life size Rei Ayanami and 2 meter tall EVA unit 01 figures!


(left) The line was for the free flyer hand outs. A comic market-like scene lol (center) naturally, the crepe shop was EVA-ish (right) special menus with original stickers


(left/center) focused on exterior by exhibiting action figures (right) entrance at 11:00am. the 2nd show has started


(left) obviously, a full house with standing room only (center) 11:30am. The waiting line for the 3rd show has streched to the side of the building (right)12:30pm. Ayanami-cosplayed staff comes on the stage


The limited download of its first official remix that is NOT included in the soundtrack, "Les Betes-Royal Mirrorball Remix" was advertised


The audience reads the QR code on the board with their cell phones


The 5th edition of the free paper "EVA-EXTRA", "EVA-EXTRA05" was "shown" on the monitor

micro-fiber towels and T-shirts were sold


the theater between 1:00pm-1:30pm. the changing of the audience groups. the square was jam packed


Inside the theater. A sticker was labeled on the pamphlet for the audience to read after the viewing. "EVA-EXTRA"'s vol.4 that was "on sale" were already sold out. It seems there were many that "Bought in a bundle"


The movic limited 6 pack of the 2009 EVA-Can were sold. Two limited clear files set for theater purchase came with the cans. A staff quotes, "(It's selling so well,) they might be sold out tomorrow"

As you can see from the list, people that are going might be better to aim what to get before going to the theater. (But once you see the real thing, that might go right out of your mind though)
