Gran Turismo for PSP's Akiba Grand Prix report! The official event for "Gran Turismo" for PSP, "Akiba Grand Prix" was held at Akihabara on the 14th.

This event was held at 5 sites, centered at BELLESALLE AKIHABARA, portraying the city of Akihabara as a racing circuit and the going head on against 5 driving aces at each point. The winner of the 5 will be given the data of maximum 435 cars (229 models) and the right to qualify in the final round. The winner can race against professional racing driver Juichi Wakisaka.

Many racers aiming for the top in this rainy weather. Participants wearing the red/blue checked Akiba GP scarves (that was given as a hospitality gift) which resembles FC Tokyo Soccer team, fled out to Akihabara with their own PSPs.

BELLESALLE AKIHABARA, the main site, held try-out sessions and head-on race sessions with many beginners and children and their parents crowding the area.

SUPER GT・GT500 class champion professional racing driver Juichi Wakisaka and Yukie Kawamura came as guests


Demonstration before the finals. While the two said they have practiced after the first race of the final round, (it seemed) the female staff had smoother control than both of them. Comments included "They're all really good" (Wakisaka) "Can't make the curves without hitting the walls" (Kawamura)


3 participants that won the semi finals (top 12 timetrial winners) and Wakisaka before the finals. Test-takers that "Sneaked out from the house" and "Have cram school from 6p.m." (was already past 5:50 at this point) were among the finalists


It was a perfect setting with LEXUS SC430×Fuji Speed way for TOYOTA's Wakisaka but falls to last from the first corner. Tries to recover with "line that I only know" but couldn't make it. The fight for the pole was between cars no.2 and 3. Car no.3 (black car) pulls ahead no.2 (blue) using slipstream but no.2 hangs on


the crowd went wild at the tail-to-nose, side-by-side heat. Screams and sighs were heard at each corner


Car no.3 held no.2 at the final corner to the finish line for the win
