"Maria-sama ga Miteru Christmas Album" in stores now !
A christmas album from "Maria-sama ga Miteru" was released.
"Maria-sama ga Miteru" (often shortened to "Marimite") is an ongoing series of Japanese light novels by Oyuki Konno, and illustrated by Reine Hibiki. The series focuses on a group of teenage girls attending Lillian Catholic school for girls in Tokyo, Japan. A common theme throughout the series revolves around the lives and close relationships of the school's student council known as the Yamayuri Council. "The soeurs system" is a fictional system incorporated in the series and is a central concept. In the graphic novel, any second or third year student might pick a younger girl who will become her "soeurs" (sister in French). So it can be considered as "Yuri"(girl's love) novel. There are many male fans as well, paving the way for a TV syndication through AT-X in the Kanto/ Kansai/ Tokai area for the fourth series from January 2009.
The album "Maria-sama ga Miteru" is a cover album of Christmas songs sung by the anime voice actresses. Centering Kana Ueda as Yumi Fukuzawa, Haruna Ikezawa as Shimazu Yoshino, Mamiko Noto as Shimako Todo, Rie Kugimiya as Toko Matsudaira, Kaori Shimizu as Noriko Nijo and Ami Koshimizu as Kanako Hosokawa sings the holiday favorites.
The tracks include 4 new recordings added to the 2 previously released songs like "We Wish You A Merry Christmas", "Silent Night" "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town". All the songs are sung in English, giving it a Lillian Catholic school like atmosphere. The first shipping package will have a Christmas card enclosed.
There will be a preview of the 1st episode from the 4th season and a special digest version viewing event on December 31st.
