MANDARAKE Akihabara store is displaying/selling 1051 Famicom game-set.
Famicom, or Family Computer is a household game console by Nintendo that first came out in 1983. The 3rd generation game console with a 8 bit CPU, the popularity has become a social phenomenon.
The total shipping is said to be at 62.91 million, and still loved by many game fans even after their production ended in 2003.
This historical line up of Famicom game cartridges was put out on display at a showcase facing the streets of Mandarake Complex from the first games that came out with Famicom game console in July 15th 1983, "Donkey Kong", "Donkey Kong Jr.", and "Popeye" to the last game "Adventure Island IV" ( released June 24th,1994). The titles are lined up in chronological order and the refrences of events that took place that year and comments from shop staff had Akihabara strollers stop and stare.
This collection of 1051 game cassettes are on sale as "The Famicom Full Complete Set" for 650,000yen. That calculates to almost 600yen per game, but considering there are very rare games included in the set, it might not be as pricey as it seems. The sign read "All the Famicom games that went out on sale (ROM cassettes only)are HERE"(*) it may the ultimate "Otona-gai"(adult-size purchase).On the same note, a new Super Famicom game console was on sale at amazon for 500,000yen.(sold not by Nintendo)
