Cool'n' sexy "Megurine Luka" debuts! Voiced by Yuu Asakawa, now can sing in English The third installment in the character vocal series by DTM "Megurine Luka" was released.

"Vocaloid" is a singing synthesizer application software developed by the YAMAHA Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody. Developed by Crypton Future Media, the Character Vocal Series music program utilizes YAMAHA's "Vocaloid2" technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors. It became popular after its cute visuals was shown on NicoNico Douga. "Hatsune Miku" was the first of the series.

This product, "Megurine Luka" is the third installment in the character vocal series following "Hatsune Miku" and "Kagamine Rin and Len". The biggest feature is the installment of the "Bilingual system" which broadens the expressions of English lyrics, and makes it possible to produce works towards the international market.

The voice was sampled from the voice actress Yuu Aoyama, as known as Motoko Aoyama from "Love Hina" and Choun Shiryu from "Battle Vixens". Her voice fit the "a breathy voice with an atmosphere" concept, "Megurine Luka" can cover the wide range from middle to high range.

The character design by the illustrator Kei, who has done the designs of the previous "Miku"," Ren" and "Len". The pink long hair, cool expression. slashed skirt, knee socks (what seems like) and long boots gives the "cool and foxy mature lady" atmosphere. Her official stats are as follows:

PC software shops at Akihabara were advertising the product by having a special area in stores and staffs calling out on the streets. The shops that had only few in stock were sold out but as there are comments saying "it's up to Niconico Douga" if it sells or not", it is still uncertain how well this will sell.
