The novels of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", that the animation restarted this April seems to be selling well.
"The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya"series of Japanese light novels is written by Nagaru Tanigawa, currently running Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko series.
"Haruhi Suzumiya"(anime voiced by Aya Hirano) , beautiful, intelligent and athletic, but also has a strong self-centered and impudent persona.As the leader of the SOS Brigade, her energetic and eccentric character gets her surroundings involved as well.
The anime that aired from April to July 2006 has created a major movement that fruited into a dancing gathering at Akihabara's hokoten(free of vehicle).
Its latest novel, "Suzumiya Haruhi no Kyogaku (The Surprise of Haruhi Suzumiya)" is yet to come out on June 1st, related items and games are already out with supporting fans. The "newly" airing anime series are rumored to be 28 episodes with new added stories bringing attentions from fans and other areas.
The on airing has boosted sales of the novels at AKIHABARA GAMERS main store, where they have created a "Haruhi" space with the start of the anime. One staff says "The clearing of the shelves are noticable". The usually new novels that takes the space has "Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)", the first book back on the charts at the top spot. "There seems to be people buying them all of the published series at once" he told us. With new fans on the rise, "Hariuhi Heat" might be on its way back.
"Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)" which was published in 2003 is on its 48th edition (March 20th,2009) and 2007 published "Suzumiya Haruhi no Bunretsu (The Dissociation of Haruhi Suzumiya)" on its 19th. The accumulated total of the 9 books of the series is 5.6 million.
