K-On! Mio's High-class headphones (AKG K701) exhibit/sales at hobby floor!

"K-On!" Mio's High-class headphones (AKG"K701") exhibit/sales at hobby floor! While the instruments used in the TV animation "K-On!" by the female characters are attracting attention, the exibit/sales of headphones started at Sofmap Akihabara main store's 7th floor.

"K-On!" is an anime by Kyoto Animation (Kyo-ani) based on a Japanese four-panel comic strip manga serialized on Houbunsha's seinen manga magazine "Manga Time Kirara" and "Manga Time Kirara Carat". The opening/ending themes has ranked in the top 10 three weeks in a row, ranking in at 2nd and 4th this week. The animation itself has been a dominant favorite among the newly started anime this spring.

The animation is known for its realistic recreation based on actual instruments, stirring up popularity involving the music industry with musical instruments getting many hits for the girls' usage. Akiba shops has answered this boom by taking up gadgets at hobby floors normally not related to music.

Sofmap's 7th floor has taken up AKG's "K701" high class headphones that Mio used while studying in the 5th episode. Named "Mio-phone" by anime fans, it has been been brought up from the 1st floor that sells headphones/earphones and portable audio players.

Although the price at Sofmap was 79,800yen (tax included/ 10% point back), it has been sold out at internet shops, it has attracted attention. We have actually heard shoppers pointing out the headphones and saying "This is the one that Mio's using"

The AKG"K701" has ranked No.1 at Kakaku.com's HotHit ranking of headphones on May 14th, and 4th on the top selling chart (jumped from No.41 before On-Air to No.6 last week). The lowest price boosted from 38,800yen (that stayed stable for about 100days from January 28th) to 74,900yen (from May 8th)

There were 368 comments on the kakaku.com bulletin board like "considering purchase" and "Whats the reason behind this junp in the ranking"

"Guitar Heroes Aerosmith" was picked up as a guitar relation at Asobit Game City's 2nd floor. The game played by synchronizing the guitar play, there were posters introducing the game with "Anybody can play well this this!" and "Have your "K-On!" debut!"
