"Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone" out on Blu-Ray/DVD! "Rebuild of Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone" has come out on Blu-Ray and DVD.

"Rebuild of Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone" is the latest theatrical release (released September 1st,2007) in 12 years from the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series, which its popularity extended outside anime fans to the general public, is considered the anime of the 90's. It is the 1st of the 4-part series (" You Are (Not) Alone", "You Can (Not) Advance", TBA for the 3rd and fourth films) that is a reproduction based on the story line from episode 1 "Angel Attack" to episode 6 ""Rei II". It shows "mission:Yashima",which is a climax of the first part of the story as well as the major setting changes of Evas and angels.

"Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone" is a remastered edition of DVD that was released in 2008 as "EVANGELION version "1.01"" As the number shows, it uses digital data as the master source with newly added materials.

The previous version was released only on DVD, the "1.11" is released in both Blu-Ray and DVD, now can be enjoyed with Blu-Ray high quality visuals(1080p) and sound (DTS-HD 6.1ch surround, Dolby TrueHD6.1ch surround sound system).

It seems that the focus is on Blu-Ray, where it comes in a Degi-pack BOX set while the DVD edition comes on a regular tall case. The special features contained are the same with the 5 items that will be included:

･information of "Evangelion: You Are (Not) Alone"/trailor/TV commercials
･Rebuild of EVANGELION:1.01 (same contents as version "1.01" DVD edition)

Anime shops in Akihabara promoted the item by playing the Blu-Ray versions. People watching seemed like they couldn't wait for the 2nd theatrical feature "Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance" that will start June 27th. And with many different purchase specials like clear folders and binders given away at each shops, there will be people buying not just for review before 2.0 but as a collectible item.
