"Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu" for NINTENDO DS has come out.
"Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu" is an adventure game based on the popular light novel/TV animation "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya". Based at Kenritsu North High School's summer vacation, the usual SOS Brigade gets caught caught in another unusual situation. It is a completely original story produced by the animation staff where Haruhi streches her interest in undercovering "School's Horror Tales -the 7 wonders-".
The game consists of "Adventure Part" and "Problem Solving Part". Player (Kyon) retrieves "Topics" from the words while building trust with Haruhi in "Adventure Part", and "Problem Solving Part" the player tries to solve or bluff the problems with the brigade members while hiding from Haruhi. The player can get feel of a SOS Brigade member that always get caught in a mess (usually Kyon) that must watch Haruhi's mental condition.
2 vocal tunes made for "Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu" is included. The tunes already released in the vocal mini album in March, the tune features a SOS Brigade-ish light hearts number.
"Super SOS Brigade Member Collection" will be out as a first production limited special. The 6 items include "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya Choro-Q Mazda RX-7", "SOS Brigade bag (for DS lite)" that covers the DS, "SOS Brigade Guard cover", "Character Sleeve"X 3 that guards DS software, "DS case sleeve" and character stickers. The prices at Akihabara were 8,000yen for the limited edition and 4,400yen for the regular edition.
The first volume of "Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan and Nyoro~n Churuya-san DVD Saisho", the official spin-off parody of "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" on DVD has come out.
Contains 51minutes from the opening and 10episodes of "Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan" and 5 episodes of Nyoro~n Churuya-san, the high-speed, sure-realistic anime aired on YouTube KADOKAWA Anime Channel. It also includes "DVD TV-CM Oniguchi Setsugen ver." and "Opening without credit"as a bonus track.
Being the latest release of a popular item, Akihabara shops were taking advantage of its attention by openimg up space at both game floor and DVD floor making sure that Haruhi, that loves being in the spotlight extremely happy. A shop staff cosplaying as Haruhi held "Suzumiya Haruhi no Chokuretsu" and "Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi-chan and Nyoro~n Churuya-san DVD Saisho" advertising the items and taking photos with passers by.
