Taisho girls playing baseball! TV anime "Taisho Baseball Girls" TV anime "Taisho Baseball Girls" will start from July 2nd at TBS.

Taisho Baseball Girls is a TV animated cartoon of which the original is the light novel on the same name by Atsushi Kagurazaka published with Tokuma Novels edge. It is a struggle story that drew the appearance in which it challenges Baseball in which girls of Taisho Period were not regarded at that time.

It will on air from July 2nd, every Thursday from 11:59pm from TBS. It is the show filling in the spot that "K-On!" has now which is understandable why it is already attracting attention. It will also on air at MBS,CBC, and BS-TBS.

We'd like to introduce the story and the characters with the pics we received!

<Story>
The first book in the series begins in Taisho 14 (1925) with Koume, the 14-year-old daughter of a Western-style restaurant owner, who commutes back and forth to an girl's academy. One day during the commute, she is having a conversation with her friend who everyone calls "Young Miss" . They decide to form an all-girl baseball team and have a match with a boys team. In a day and age where girls were expected to very reserve, will the girls be able to play baseball!?

Koume Suzukawa
A daughter of a restaurant owner, is one of the common type
She is bright and athletic but a bit naive

Tomoe Tsukubae
Has practiced budo and is athletic. With her beauty and height, she has many fans in the junior class.Unlike from her appearance, has a cute character. Twin of Shizuka.

Likes to take care of people. Another parent figure to Tomoe.

Kyouko Sakurami
Wants to be a by-player, and has no wish to be in the spotlight.
Wishes to be a good supporting role. She looks up to Tomoe.

Tamaki Ishigaki
Daughter of a novelist and dreams of becoming one in the future. Shy but can't stand being alone.Played baseball when she was in elementary school.

Kochou Kikusaka
Belongs to the track and field club, has good jump in running. Quiet and reserved and serious.Her mother being a geisha, has never felt any family warmth

Anna Cartland
An American English teacher at Toho Seika Gakuin with fluent Japanese.
A largehearted character that doesn't sweat the small things. Tough on the practice field
