Vol.1of the moe-mahjong anime "Saki" DVD released! Vol.1 of the TV anime "Saki" has come out.

"Saki" is an anime based on the comic serialized on "Young GANGAN" that started April 2009. The story revolves around Kiyosumi High School Mahjong Club that aims to win the all Japan high school mahjong tournament and the new member Saki Miyanaga (CV: Kana Ueda). Many other characters of the club and from other schools include the well-curved Nodoka Haramura (CV: Ami Koshimizu), the highly energetic LOLI-CHARA , Yuki Kataoka (CV:Rie Kugimiya) and more. It gives a bright image to a previously released mahjong comics with darker images.

Vol.1 of the DVD include episode 1 "Encounter" and episode 2"Match". It features Saki, a girl who did not like mahjong meets Kiyosumi High School Mahjong Club and starts to realize the fun of the game. There are scenes that are different from its original on-air, so that might be enjoyable for the fans to find the differences.

The first press edition will come with a 100 page booklet/picture label disc plus "DVD Syucchouban Zajong-kai Special" and "Comic Market 75 trailer" as a special feature. This Zajong-kai features Kana Ueda (as Saki Miyanaga), Rie Kugimiya (as Yuuki Kataoka), Shizuka Ito (as Hisa Takei) and Ryoko Shiraishi (as Mako Someya) having their "girl's talk" for over 100 minutes- a must see for SEIYU fans.

Both limited and regular editions will include a special cover drawn by the Character Designer Masakatsu Sasaki and the opening theme without the credits.

Asobit Game City PRed "Saki" by using 2 monitors on the 3rd floor. Played the DVD and displayed posters explaining the winning hands of mahjong seen in the anime and posters that read "Enjoyable even for those that only know Donjyara!".

AKIHABARA GAMERS main store unveiled its mahjong table-sized cloth poster as a Full volume purchase special. The picture printed is the sexy Nodoka, a poster stated "This is no time for mahjong !"

Vol. 2 of "Saki" DVD is scheduled to go out August 19th. The first press special will come with "Turn it over when you go out- Saki & Nodoka reversible Dakimakura".
