Vol.4 of Tonari no 801-chan out!

Vol.4 of "Tonari no 801-chan"  has come out.




Tonari no 801-chan (read as Tonari no Yaoi-chan, and literally translated as My Neighbor Yaoi-chan) is a Japanese four-panel Internet manga written and illustrated by Ajiko Kojima. The story centers on the relationship between a yaoi-obsessed fujyoshi girlfriend Yaoi and her male otaku named Tibet. It is known to be one of the title that has spread the word "fujyoshi" and come out in books, drama and drama CD.

There was a wedding announcement of 801-chan and Tibe-kun (the author Ajiko Kojima himself has married a fujyoshi that is the model of 801-chan) in vol.3 and a booklet was added. The special limited edition of Vol.4 will come with a storyboard booklet and a DVD.

The DVD features the animation of "Tonari no 801-chan R" and desk top accessories. Animation of "801-chan" brings back the hoopla of summer 2008 when the announcement of animation (produced by Kyoto Animation)was recalled 2 weeks later, but this one is the 90 second animation by director Yutaka Yamanaka (a.k.a. Yamakan, director of "Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya", "Lucky Star" and "Kannagi")  and produced by A-1 Pictures.

The self-deprecating comment "* not ready for TV animation yet" from the director Yutaka Yamamoto on the belt continues as "that's why we only have the opening credit" and "produced by Kyoto "Misonobashi" Animation".

There are also original double sided cover with the new character "Tonari no 893-chan" as the "Animate Limited Edition" and the CD that features the opening theme of "Tonari no 801-chan R", "BL-IN Black In" sold exclusively at Animate shops.
