Vol.1 of Bakemonogatari on Blu-Ray/DVD out! Vol.1 of the TV animation "Bakemonogatari" on Blu-ray/DVD, "Hitagi Crab" has come out.

Bakemonogatari is a Japanese light novel series written by Japanese novelist Nisio Isin. The story centers on Koyomi Araragi(CV: Hiroshi Kamiya), a third year high school student who is almost human again after briefly becoming a vampire. One day, a classmate named Hitagi Senjogahara(CV: Chiwa Saito), who infamously never talks to anyone, falls down the stairs into Koyomi's arms. He discovers that Hitagi weighs next to nothing, in defiance of physics.The events of the previous chapters play an important role in the subsequent ones. The series primarily focuses on conversations between characters; it contains a fair number of parodies of other series, as well as Nisio Isin's trademark word play and meta humor.

The series that ran between July to September 2009, tends to introduce only one new heroine per chapter, each involved with a different "apparition". The significant producing style of the anime creator SHAFT also help grasp fans.

Akiba Hobby shops played the opening credits and feature episodes. The mysterious story told though the imposing coloring seems to have caught on, with the Complete Limited Press Edition already sold out at some shops. "Bakemonogatari -Tsukimono is what makes the shops go wild- fair" is underway at AKIHABARA GAMERS main store. A coaster of customer's choice (6 in all) is given away per 1,000 yen purchase of related items. It seems that "Hitagi Senjogahara" and "Mayoi Hachikuji" are the fan favorites now. It will go on till supplies last, so fans might have to rush!

There were staff wearing "Bougen Rensei" "Kami Kami" t-shirs were seen at Akihabara.
