People gathered from late November 15th for the sales opening of the new Intel CPU "Core i7"(Development Codename:Nehalem)at midnight of the 16th at several PC parts shops in Akihabara.

to【RED INK SALE!?】 "Core i7" Night Event Only Sale
As it was advertised beforehand, the night sales opened at 8 shops - DOSPARA Akihabara Honten, Tsukumo eX., SofMap Akihabara Reuse Sougou-Kan,TWOTOP Akihabara Honten, Faith Honten,T-ZONE. PC DIY SHOP, Clevery 1,and Mouse Computer Akihabara Direct Shop. SofMap Akihabara Sougou-Kan was open to back up SofMap Akihabara Reuse Sougou-Kan.
<EVENT>
A talk show and seminar by Intel's Nobuhiko Amano (a.k.a. "God") were held at some shops. And DOSPARA Akihabara Honten had Toru Furuya (Amuro Rei of GUNDAM) and all gils magic group Primavera as guests for their event.
An information booth was set at CAFFE SOLARE Linux Cafe Akihabara and a countdown was held at 12AM. Intel's senior director Steve Dallman, president Kazumasa Yoshida and representative from the night sales shops were on hand for the ceremony at midnight.
Presentations from related makers such as Microsoft/FOXCONN/ Century Micro were also held.
<Night Sales Only /Bargains>
Night sale were showing great momentum with 1TB HDD hitting a low of 6,980 yen and 3set DDR memory that supports Core i7+X58 motherboard's triple channel drawing attention. On other note, "PT1" appeared for auctioning and a prize for a janken (rock, paper, scissors) competition. It was auction at a higher than its original 20,000 yen price.
Also at an auction of T-ZONE, a set of Core i7 920 + GIGABYTE「GA-EX58-UD5」 + Windows Vista Ultimate (64bit edition), sold for 77,777 yen.
<Sales>
The low-end "Core i7-920" sold well at night sales shops. Many high-end users were seen buying the top-end "Extreme 965" and "Rampage II Extreme" the top-end X58 motherboard by ASUS .
While CPU are well stocked, motherboard that supports them were low in numbers.( especially the higher models).
