akiba20090212__0001.jpgPC case with a gas cooling unit, "Xpressar with Black XaserVI"(VG40031N2Z) by Thermaltake went out on sale.

"Xpressar with Black XaserVI"(VG40031N2Z) by Thermaltake is a full tower PC case with the gas cooling unit that is used in refrigerators and air conditioners for cooling CPU. This is a product that has "Xpressar" gas cooling unit installed in Thermaltake's PC case "Black XaserVI".

The cooling system is constructed by compressor (lifts the pressure by reducing the volume of the refrigerant), radiator (releases the heat for the refrigerant to vaporize and compressed into liquid), expansion valve (controlling the speed of the refrigirant), vaporizer (absorb the heat from the CPU) which is all installed within case. And the copper piping is installed for dew condensation prevention.

The biggest point of this product is the cooling device which the maker says "can cool 20 degrees more than liquid cooling".  Thermaltake's homepage has the actual test results, where the environment was 90 degrees on air-cooling and 70 degrees on water-cooling (Core 2 Duo E8400 with OC 4.5GHz, motherboard :ASUS Blitz Formula) gas cooling had 50 degrees. It is also maintainance free because it has no need to refill the refrigerant.

Intel LGA1366/775 is the only socket possible for cooling and does not connect to AMD. The tubing only allows certain motherboards that can be mounted as some models of ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI. Do check their WebSite for further details.

50W is needed for the cooling unit but the another 100W plus the system is recommended.
