2TB HDD！ WesternDigital"WD20EADS" finally goes on sale

A 3.5 inch Hard Disc Drive with 2TB capacity will go on sale ar Akihabara on the 27th.

The product that has been longed for is "WD20EADS" by WesternDigital. Although its sales have been rumored, its arrival has been pushed back.

"WD20EADS" is the first 3.5 inch Hard Disc Drive with 2TB capacity. Its specs are :Serial ATA（3Gbps）interface , 5,400rpm running speed and 32MB buffering capacity. It is top ranked in capacity in the line of "WD Caviar Green" series which is known for their low heat/ low running power 3.5 inch, SATA connecting HDDs. Its probably formatted by 4X 500GB platters.

The expected price at Dospara Akihabara main store is 34,800 yen. It might seem twice as more expensive per GBs, compared to the 1.5 GB products priced between 11,000 and 12,000 yen (7.5 to 8 yen per GBs), but considering its  Mini-ITX case and smaller barebones and  using one drive for 2 Gbs, it might be a good choice for high-end PC users.

Dospara Akihabara main store started taking reservations from the 25th. (1 per customer) Other shops are due to have them in by the weekend priced between the mid to late 30,000s, but low in numbers.
